STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is an educational methodology which is used to consolidate and enhance the understanding of conventional Science and Mathematics. Through STEM-Robotics education students learn to design, build and program robots which helps them understand the concepts of their subjects better. This methodology helps them to use their imagination and creativity and enhance their innovative and problem-solving skills. We wish to make it clear that the curriculum of Robotics education in our school is being integrated with the curriculum of Science and Mathematics by Prof. Tairo Nomura of Saitama University, Japan.
As part of our Robotics education programme, a LIVE ROBOT named NAO was specially brought from Japan for demonstration. The Chairman of our Robotics associate company – SCCIP Japan, Mr. Renya Kikuchi, personally brought this robot for Wisdom students in August 2018. All the students of Grade I to IX who are undergoing Robotics training in the school were enthralled by the LIVE DEMO. The Robot not only interacted with the students but also gave a song and dance performance. It was an absolutely new and fascinating experience for our students.
STEM-Robotics is a compulsory subject for all the students of Grade I to IX. The teaching is imparted by expert teachers trained by Learning Systems, Japan. We also wish to make it clear that we are using the world's best Robotic Kit – LEGO of Denmark - and this kit is provided by the school for use by students.
